OTee, a Danish industrial technology startup, has raised €5.3 million in a seed funding round led by North Ventures, with participation from Superangel, Atlas SGR, RunwayFBU, and Antler.

Founded by Henrik Pedersen and Radek J., OTee is building a platform to modernise industrial control systems that still rely on proprietary hardware and closed vendor ecosystems with little innovation over the past decades. As industries adopt AI, cloud, and modern software, these legacy systems are becoming a major bottleneck.

OTee’s platform replaces traditional programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with virtual PLCs running on open, off-the-shelf hardware, enabling companies to reduce vendor lock-in, standardise operations across sites, and deploy updates faster—while maintaining the determinism, safety, and reliability required for mission-critical operations.

“Industrial control systems run physical operations across nearly every sector of the global economy, yet most still rely on proprietary hardware and closed vendor ecosystems. OTee's platform enables a shift to open, software-defined infrastructure, laying the foundation for AI in real-world industrial operations,” Superangel commented in its LinkedIn post.

The platform is already deployed across energy, utilities, and manufacturing, supporting companies as they modernise their operational infrastructure.

Henrik Pedersen, Co-founder of OTee, added: “We're building a platform that allows industrial companies to move faster and operate more flexibly, without compromising on the reliability these environments require.”

The funding will be used to scale deployments, accelerate product development, and expand the team, as OTee continues to bring modern software capabilities into industrial environments.
