EXIT: Startup Wise Guys' portfolio company, SensusQ, has been acquired by Quantum Systems
EstVCA member Startup Wise Guys' portfolio company SensusQ, a Tallinn-based intelligence management platform for defence and security organisations, has been acquired by Quantum Systems, the Munich-based defence technology company building autonomous unmanned systems. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2020 by Marko Kaseleht and Villiko Nurmoja, SensusQ came through Startup Wise Guys' Cybersecurity Accelerator, where the firm became the company's first investor and continued backing the team through multiple follow-on rounds. That support came when defence technology attracted far less venture capital than it does today, with many investors viewing the sector as too complex, too slow or too specialised.
Modern security operations generate enormous volumes of information from many sources, but the real difficulty lies in connecting fragmented data, identifying patterns and turning intelligence into decisions that support critical operations. SensusQ built its platform to close that gap, becoming a trusted technology partner to organisations including the Estonian Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
"We backed SensusQ early because we believed in the team, the problem they were solving and their ability to build in one of Europe's most demanding sectors," said Dag Ainsoo, General Partner at Startup Wise Guys.
SensusQ now becomes part of Quantum Systems' in-house software capabilities, strengthening its ISR and analytics offering and its ability to connect unmanned platforms, sensors and analytics within a sovereign European architecture. The acquisition accompanies the opening of a Tallinn office that will serve as the centre of Quantum Systems' Estonian operations, bringing together local engineering talent, software expertise and Estonian capabilities in electro-optical sensors, stabilised payloads and precision ISR.
The acquisition follows Quantum Systems' $1.2 billion Series D financing, announced on 2 July 2026, which supports the company's production scale-up, international expansion and continued investment in software, AI and autonomous systems. Tallinn now becomes another of the group's European capability centres, deepening its presence on NATO's Eastern flank, with Estonian-built software at the core of one of Europe's fastest-growing defence companies.
